This September, bring a planetary science conference to your classroom with „EPSC-DPS Goes Live for Schools”!

The complex acronym stands for two very large scientific communities: the European Planetary Society Congress (EPSC) and the Division of Planetary Sciences (DPS). They join forces during their biannual conference this September when more than 1500 scientists from all over the world will gather for a week in Helsinki.

For whom: Pupils 10 years+/ Teachers of secondary education
When: 8-19 September 2025
Where: online

In this hybrid series of events we bring the scientists of the conference in contact with schools!
It is a unique chance to learn planetary science findings from researchers who travel from far away countries to join this meeting and will be in town for a few days.

Some activities will be held in-person in Helsinki, while some others will be online to allow for remote participation.

The activities are:

  • STEM and STEAM workshops in person in the classroom
  • „Cosmic interviews” with planetary scientists who answer questions about how it is to work for space and planetary exploration.
  • Webinars
  • Teacher online sessions for sharing educational resources in the classroom.
    and more!

This year, we will include for the second time workshops with a video-artist that will make a stop-motion movie with the kids in the classroom, inspired by science. You can watch the final video compilation of last year’s edition here and prepare to participate this year!
